Ludlow: "All of the children (except child #8 Kirsten who had already died) on this sheet were found in the probate after their mother, Zidsel Nielsdatter, which was registered some time after her death (it was so stated in the probate, as the rule was that a probate had to be registered 30 days after the date of death) - it was not registered until 23 Jan 1726. The parish register for Viby does not start until 1719 making it impossible to further identify this family."

Ludlow: "In the land records it was found that on 7 May 1719 Peder Simonsen renewed his leaswe on his farm in Viby (reg. no. 2-3-1-1/2) and on 16 July 1720 Niels Jensen of Viby took over the lease on the deceased Peder Simonsen's farm (reg. no. 7-3-1-1/2); it was quite common in those days that a deceased farmer's wife remarried shortly after the husband's death so that she would have somebody to take care of the farm and her family."
