Samuel Richard Brough

Thomas Brough states in his journal that Samuel Richard Brough was born at "1 A.M. on the 20th of August 1857 at Rocky Branch near Bethalto, Madison County, Illinois."

The christening for Thomas Brough is listed in the IGI and LDS Ordinance Index (via the LDS Extraction Program).

According to research done in the 1970's by RBFO Genealogist, Thomas Brough was baptized into the LDS Church on 7 January 1848 by Elder Wesley Meigh of the LDS Longton Branch, Staffordshire, England.

According to the British Census, Thomas Brough was working as a "App. Potter"when he was only "9" years of age (1841 Census) and as a "Coal Miner" at "18" years of age (1851 Census). FHL Film #'s: 474621, p. 28; and 87402, p.31.

Jean (Jane) Paterson

Jean Paterson has been known for many years as "Jane Patterson" to a number of RBFO family members. However, recent research has shown her original name as "Jean Paterson". For example, the Barony Parish Record (in Scotland) and the LDS Church Extraction Program lists her name as "Jean Paterson." Therefore, RBFO Genealogists have now listed her name as "Jean (Jane) Paterson" in RBFO-PAF files.


Thomas Brough

The death of Thomas Brough (on 10 August 1852) was obtained from an entry in the record of the LDS "Sealing to Parents" at the LDS Logan Temple on 20 October 1886. This record can be found in the FHL Special Collections Section, Film #178087, p.472.


Emily Ellen Brough

Emily was never married.

The "Watson" ancestry and relatives was originally submitted for LDS Temple work by Samuel Richard Brough in 1897-1901. Marie B. Nielson, RBFO Genealogists, has the original LDS temple record books personally kept by Samuel Richard Brough. R. Clayton Brough, RBFO President, has copies of the LDS temple records on the "Watson" ancestry personally kept by Samuel Richard Brough.
