William Brough

The christening of "Wm. [William] Brough" is listed in the parish register of Stoke-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, England (FHL Book # 942.46, B4pr, V.34, page 638), which states that he was christened on 31 July 1774 in Stoke-upon-Trent, and that his parents were "Wm. and Ellen Brough".  Also, the christening of "William Brough" is listed in FamilySearch (FHL Films # 873645-6), which states that he was christened on 31 July 1774 at St. Peter's church in Stoke-upon-Trent, and that his parents were "William Brough" and "Ellen".

The 1797 marriage of "William Brough" and "Mary Ford" is listed in the parish register of Trentham, Staffordshire, England (FHL Film # 1526192, p.79, and FHL Book # 942.46, B4pr, V.39, page 314), which states that they were married by Banns on 13 May 1797 in St. Mary and All Saints, Trentham, Staffordshire, and that they were both of "this Parish".  The marriage was witnessed by William Ford and Elisabeth Brough.

The 1797 marriage of "William Brough" and "Mary Ford" is listed in the parish register of Trentham, Staffordshire, England (FHL Film # 1526192, p.79, and FHL Book # 942.46, B4pr, V.39, page 314), which states that they were married by Banns on 13 May 1797 in St. Mary and All Saints, Trentham, Staffordshire, and that they were both of "this Parish".  The marriage was witnessed by William Ford and Elisabeth Brough.

The christening of "Elizabeth Brough" is listed in FamilySearch (FHL Film # 1470996), which states that she was christened on 8 February 1801 in Hanley, Staffordshire, England, and that her parents were "William Brough" and "Mary".

The burial of "Elizabeth Brough" is listed in the parish register of Draycott in the Moors, Staffordshire, England (FHL Book # 942.46, B4pr, V.121, p.220), which states that she was buried on 20 May 1823 in Draycott in the Moors, and that her she was of "Blithe Marsh Parish of Dilhorne" and that she died when she was "21" years old (born about 1802).


John Ford Brough

The christening of "John Ford Brough" is listed in the parish register of Stoke-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, England (FHL Book # 942.46, B4pr, Vol.35, page 975), which states that he was christened on 3 June 1804 in Stoke-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, and that his parents were "William & Mary Brough".

The 1892 marriage of "Richard Birks" and "Lydia (Brough) Bullock" is listed in the parish register of Dresden, Staffordshire (FHL Film # 1470944, Item #7), which states that they were married by Banns on 24 December 1892 in Dresden; that Richard Birds was 37 years old (born about 1855), a Bachelor and Coachman of 29 Russell Street, Dresden, and that his father was Richard Birks, a Cratemaker; and that Lydia Bullock was 36 years old (born about 1856), a Widow and Potter of 72 Dunrobin Street, Florence, and that her father was Jabez Brough, a Potter.  The marriage took place "in [the] church [of Dresden in the] presnce of Jabez Brough and Edith Kinsey".

In the 1901 Census, Richard Birks is listed as being about 46 year old (born about 1855), born in Longton, Staffordshire, and working as a "Cab driver".

According to the marriage of Richard Birks and Lydia (Brough) Bullock, in 1892, Richard Birks was 37 years old (born about 1855) and his occupation was a "Coachman" and his father was Richard Birks (a Cratemaker).  When Richard got married he was residing at 29 Russell Street, Dresden, and was a Bachelor; while Lydia was a "Widow" and "Potter" and was living at 72 Dunrobin Street, Florence, and her father was Jabez Brough (a Potter).  (This information can be found in the Dresden Parish Register, FHL Film # 1470944.)


Lydia Brough

The christening of "Lydia Brough" is listed in FamilySearch (FHL Film # 1471085, Item #7), which states that she was christened on 11 May 1856 at St. James church in Longton, Staffordshire, England, and that her parents were "Jabez and Elizabeth Brough" of "Longton" and that Jabez Brough was a "Potter.

The 1878 marriage of "George Bullock" and "Lydia Brough" is listed in the parish register of Dresden, Staffordshire (FHL Film # 1470944, Item #6), which states that they were married by Banns on 3 November 1878 in Dresden; that George Bullock was 21 years old (born about 1857), a Bachelor and Potter, and that his father was George Bullock, a Potter; and that Lydia Brough was 22 years old (born about 1856), a Spinsiter and Potter, and that her father was Jabez Brough, a Potter.  The marriage was witnessed by Edward Dodd and Edith Hill.

In the 1881 Census, Lydia (Brough) Bullock is listed as being about 24 years old (born about 1857), born in Longton, and working as a "Warehousewoman".

In the 1891 Census, Lydia (Brough) Bullock is listed as being about 34 years old (born about 1857), born in Longton, and was a "Widow" who was working as a "Potters Warehouse woman" and living with five of her children at the home of her parents, Jabez and Elizabeth Brough, in Dresdon, Longton, Staffordshire.
