He was a World War II veteran, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, Delta Nu Alpha Transportation fraternity and the New York and Augusta GA Traffic Clubs. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth R. A graduate of Teaneck High School and Trenton State Teachers College, NJ, she went on to earn a Masters degree in Reading from The Citadel. She taught the blind and visually handicapped in the Barnwell County School System until her retirement in 1988. An avid bridge player who was prized as a partner for her winning strategies, Betty was also an astute follower of current events. She enjoyed the beach. Her husband Walter and her six girls were the loves of her life.
    Betty is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Fitz Gibbon of Portland, OR; Kathryn Ouzts of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Mary Louisa Baltes of Bellingham, MA, Joyce DiMarco of Ft. Leavenworth, KS and Donna Bergeson of Atlanta, GA; and her brother, Robert Rouault of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She leaves 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter Edwin Potts, her daughter, Patricia Capen; and her sister, Jean Rouault Galloway.
    A viewing will be held at the Mole Funeral Home in Barnwell from 9 to 10 AM on Thursday, December 3rd. The Rosary will be said at 10:30 and the memorial service will begin at 11 AM at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Interment will be at the Barnwell County Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memory of Elizabeth R. Potts to the USC Educational Foundation for the Claudia Waites Peeples Scholarship Fund for Barnwell High School students, in care of Gift Processing, 1027 Barnwell Street, Suite 214, Columbia, SC 29208.

Cornwell.

The 1886 marriage record of "William Samuel Walker" and "Margaret Shelton" is listed and shown in FindMyPast, which states that they were married by Banns on 24 July 1886 at St. Peter's church in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England; that William Samuel Walker was "42" years old (born about 1844), a "Widower" and "Engine man" of "High Street, Fenton" and that his father was "William Walker (deceased)" an "Engine man"; and that Margaret Shelton was "36" years old (born about 1850) and a "Spinster" of "Newland Street" and that her father was "Solomon Shelton (deceased) a "Miller".  The marriage was witnessed by Solomon Shelton and Sarah Catherine Ellis.

William Samuel Walker died prior to the 1891 Census (which was taken on 5 April 1891), as his wife is then listed as being a "Widow" as follows:  In the 1891 Census, "Margaret Walker" is listed as being 41 years old (born about 1850), born in Longton, Staffordshire, England, a "Widow" and working as a "Potters Burnisher", and residing with her widowed mother, Ann Shelton (age 70) and her son, William Walker (age 4), at: 12 Gladstone Street, Longton, Stoke-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, England.
