Relationship Note: During 2016-2018 members of the Research Committee of the Brough Family Organization conducted a radius search of available parish records, durational events and family patronymics of the Broughs of Evie and Rendall, Orkney, Scotland during the 1600's and 1700's. They also carefully reviewed the parish register of Evie and Rendall (FHL Film # 919499) and were not able to find any christening record for a George Brough (or Brugh) between 1730 and 1750. They eventually arrived at the conclusion that if George Brough was born in Evie and Rendall then he was probably the son of James Brough and Katharine Hourstane of Evie and Rendall.
