John de Burgh

"John de Burgh" was of Kendal, Westmoreland.  He was described in February 2015 by BFO researcher Michael McMichael, who stated the following about the early "de Burgh" family of Kendal, Westmoreland:
"Richard Burgh [stated in his Will of 1407] that he left lands in 'Kyrkebykendale' (now Kendal in Westmoreland) to his son, John, and lands in the village of 'Cales' to his sons Thomas and Peter. ...The British History Online entries [via: http://www.british-history.ac.uk/kendale-barony/vol1/pp1-22) for the town [of Kirkby Kendal] identified the following references to the Burgh family: 1310 - Roger de Burgh; 1357 - Peter de Brus (I think that this should be de Burgh, as the last Peter de Brus of note connected with Kendal died childless many decades earlier); 1365 - John de Burgh; 1382 - John de Burgh; 1390 - John de Burgh and Alice de Burgh; 1404 - Robert de Burgh and Alice de Burgh; 1409 - John, son of Richard and Thomas de Burgh; and 1411 - Robert de Burgh and John son of Richard de Burgh.  I also came across this [online source]: http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/addtobasket/C9334636.
My conclusion from this is as follows:  "Roger de Burgh was the first of the line in Kendal.  There may also have been a William in the area around that time as well.  However, I cannot establish any connection to other Brough lineages; Peter was probably the son of Roger and the father of John; John was in turn probably the father of John and Alice; Robert was the son of John and, in all likelihood, the brother (or cousin) of Richard Burgh who moved away from Kendal when he married into the Roos line (and note that they are also natives of this town), perhaps taking control of his wife's lands; and both John and Thomas are the two sons of Richard Burgh [of Cowthorpe, North Yorkshire]."
