The burial of "Sarah Holinson" is listed in the Bishop's Transcript of Bucknall, Staffordshire (FHL Film # 526501, Item #1), which states that she was buried on 19 November 1825 in Bucknall and that she died when she was "74" years old (born about 1751) and that she was of "Whetley Moor".

The christening of "Thomas Brough" is listed in the parish register of St. Augustine, Rugeley, Staffordshire, England (FHL Film # 7566597--which shows his listed baptism in the parish register, and FHL Book # 942.46, B4pr, V.30, Pt.2, page 1814--which lists him incorrectly as being buried instead of baptized), and states that he was christened on 6 February 1814 at St. Augustine church in Rugeley, Staffordshire, and that he was the son of "James Brough" and "Ellen" of "Rugeley" and that James Brough was a "Cabinet Maker".

In the 1841 Census, "Thomas Brough" is listed as being 25 years old (born about 1812-1816), born in Staffordshire, working in "Silk", and residing with his probable mother, Ellen (age 50), and his probable uncle Thomas Brough (age 70), and three probable siblings, at: Workhouse Street, Leek, Staffordshire.

The 1845 marriage of "Thomas Brough" and "Anne Percy Smith" is listed in FamilySearch (FHL Film # 102021583) and in the online FreeBMD and Staffordshire, which combined states that they were married on 2 April 1845 at St. Michael's church in Horton, Staffordshire, England, that they were both "of full age", that Thomas Brough was a "Bachelor" and "Silk Thrower" of "Horton" and that his father was "James Brough" a "Joiner", and that Anne Percy Smith was a "Spinster" and "Servant" of "Horton" and that her father was "James Smith" a "Tailor".  The marriage was witnessed by Henry brough and Ellen Brough.  

In the 1851 Census, "Thomas Brough" is listed as being 37 years old (born about 1814), born in Ridgeley (Rugeley), Staffordshire, married and working as a "Silk Twister, and residing with his wife, Ann (age 35), and their three children (William--age 5, Hannah--age 3, and Marie--age 3), at: Pickwood Road, Leek and Lowe, Staffordshire, England.

Thomas Brough is the same individual who is mentioned as "my son" in a letter written by his father, James Brough (1770-1850), on October 27, 1840, to George Albert Smith (1817-1875)--who served a LDS mission to the British Isles from September 1839 to April 1841 and was an Apostle in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1839 to 1875.  The letter stated the following:

Leek [Staffordshire, England] 27th October 1840
Dear Brother Smith
Your kind Letter came safe to hand of the 19 Oct
but my son has been so much engaged with one thing
or other that he has not had five minutes to spare
to write to you, but we are all rejoiced to hear
that your health is good as this leaves us all at
present thank be to God for it; keep up your spirits
as well as you possibly can, and now you have opened
a room we feel confident that some good will
be done and we hope with the blessing of God that
the work will roll on. The work goes on at Leek pretty
steady we have not Baptized any more since he wrote
you last but hope we shall soon.  Richard improves
so much in preaching etc. that he his astonished at
himself as you have before told him and many come
to him to be healed of their sicknesses and they all
return home healed rejoicing in the Lord, praise be
unto his Holy Name for this great blessing added to
the church. We are extremely sorry to inform you that
Brother Brough has not been in the Church since

Brough (of Alsager, England) viewed the marriage certificate for James Henry Brough and Mary Abbott at the Staffordshire Record Office, and provided the RBFO with the following information:  The marriage of "Henry Brough" and "Mary Abbott" took place by "Banns" on "5 August 1841" at St. Peters, Stoke-on-Trent (No.216), and listed Henry Brough as a "Bachelor" and "Warehouseman" of "Stoke" and his father as "James Brough, Joiner", and Mary Abbott as a "Spinster" of "Stoke" and her father as "Mark Abbott, Rope Maker".   The marriage was witnessed by "Thomas Brough" and "Louisa Millward".

In April 2013, Norman Heath of England informed the BFO that: "Henry Brough died [on 22 January] 1898 aged 81.  Resided [at] 56 Shoobridge Street, Leek.  [He was a] Box Manufacturer."

Brough, Nicholson & Hall - 1837 joined Mechanics' Institute Workers' - Educational Establishment supported by employers John and Joshua Brough described as being Henry's "Cousins" - m. 5.8.1841 Mary Abbott (Cardboard Box Manufacturer) in St. Peters, Stoke. Lived in cottage in Buxton Road - 1849 - Appointed Secretary to Mechanics Institute - 1851 Census - Living at 79 Buxton Road with widowed mother, two sons and two daughters - occupation Warehouseman - 1853 - accused in pamphlet published by Librarian of Mechanics Institute of being "authoritarian" - 1861 - started button-making business from premises in Russell Street - buttons made by farmers' wives at home - Buttons made of wood, bone or horn - business failed with mass-production of buttons - Assumed business of wife's family - cardboard box manufacturing - moved premises to Old Temperace Hall and then to premises in Stockwell Street with an annex in Haywood Street.  On death of son Edward, realised assets to pay his debts became tee-total and stalwart Congregational Church - D. 22.1.1898.
