The 1856 birth certificate of "Louisa Brough" was obtained from the GRO in England in February 2012 by the Brough Family Organization, and states that she was born on 25 November 1856 at "Anchor Road, Longton", Staffordshire, England, and that her father was "Richard Brough" a "Flint Grinder" and her mother was "Fanny Brough formerly Evril".  Also, the birth of "Louisa Brough" is listed in the online GRO Index and Staffordshire BMD, which combined states that her birth was registered in October-December 1856 in Longton subdistrict, Stoke-upon-Trent district, Staffordshire, and that her mother's surname was "Evril".

The 1856 birth and christening of Louisa Brough is listed in the parish register of St. Gregory (Roman Catholic Church), Longton, Staffordshire, England (FHL Film # 1999393, Item #10), which states that she was born on 25 November 1856 and christened on 9 December 1856 as the daughter of "Ricardi and Francisca Brough (Everil)".

In the 1861 Census, "Louisa Brough" is listed as being 4 years old (born about 1857), born in Longton, Staffordshire, and residing with her parents, Richard Brough (age 60) and Fanny (age 27), and two siblings, in Longton, Stafforshire.

In the 1871 Census, "Louisa Brough" is listed as being 14 years old (born about 1857), born in Longton, Staffordshire, working as a "Potters Paper Cutter", and residing with her widowed mother, Fanny Brough (age 33), and four siblings, and a "Lodger", Benjamin Sims (age 38), at: 3 Anchor Passage, Longton, Staffordshire.

The 1876 marriage of "Henry Mollart" and "Louisa Brough" is listed in FamilySearch (FHL Film # 1471086, Item #1), which states that they were married by Banns on 8 April 1876 at St. James church in Longton, Staffordshire, England; that Henry Mollart was "20" years old (born about 1856) and a "Bachelor" and "Miner" of "13 Gate Street" and that his father was "Nullius Fillius"--which is another way of saying "Filius Nullius" which means "a son of nobody" or "an illegitimate son" who "has no legal rights as a son in respect to the inheritance of property"; and that Louisa Brough was "19" years old (born about 1857) and a "Spinster" and "Biscuit Warehouse Woman" of 15 Gate Street, and that her father was "Richard Brough" a "Millman".  The marriage was witnessed by Thomas Hassall and Eliza Cartledge.

In the 1881 Census, "Louisa Mollant" is listed as being 24 years old (born about 1857), born in Longton, Staffordshire, married and residing with her husband, Henry Mollant (age 26), and their two children (Henry Mollant--age 6, and Lizzie Mollant--age 4), at: 19 Gate Street, Longton, Staffordshire.

The 1884 death of "Louisa Mollart" is listed in the online GRO Index and Staffordshire BMD, which combined states that her death was registered in April-June 1884 in Longton subdistrict, Stoke-upon-Trent district, Staffordshire, England, and that she died when she was "27" years old (born about 1857).

Relationship Note: "Louisa Brough" is listed as the mother of "Richard Henry Brough", as follows: 1) The birth certificate of "Richard Henry Brough" was obtained from the GRO in England in June 2011 by the Brough Family Organization, and stated that Richard Henry Brough was born on 22 January 1875 at 59 Meir View, Longton, Staffordshire, England, and that his mother was "Louisa Brough" a "Potter's Scourer". (No father was listed.) 2.) The christening of Richard Henry Brough is listed in the parish register of St. James, Longton (FHL Film # 1471085, Item #17), which states that he was christened on 1 August 1875 as the son of Louisa Brough of Bagnal Street, a "Scourer".  (No father was listed.)

In the 1901 Census, "Edwin Brough" is listed as being 18 years old (born about 1883), born in Leek, Staffordshire, single and working as a School Teacher, and residing with his parents, Joseph and Harriet Brough, and six siblings, at: Nab Hill Cottages, Leek, Staffordshire.

In the 1911 Census, "Edwin Brough" is listed as being 28 years old (born about 1883), born in Leek, Staffordshire, married for four years (married about 1907), working as a "Assurance Agent", and residing with his wife, Edith, and their son, Edwin Samuel Brough (age 2), at: Clay Lake, Endon, Staffordshire.


Edith Barker

In the 1911 Census, Edith (Brough) is listed as being 30 years old (born about 1881), born "Nr [Near] Newport", Shropshire, married for four years (married about 1907), the mother of one child who was living, and residing with her husband, Edwin Brough, and their son, Edwin Samuel Brough (age 2), at: Clay Lake, Endon, Staffordshire.
