George Staunton Brough, of Thoroton Hall, Notts., Rector of Staunton, Notts., and Rector of Wollaton, Notts. Dr. Wylde was also Rector of Waltham in the Diocese of Lincoln, Prebendary of Southwell, Official of the Arch-deaconry of Nottingham, where he died May 31st 1825, aged 77 years, and was buried in St. Nicholas's church (where there is a tablet to his memory) on the 7th of the following month. His widow died July 6th, 1851, aged 87 years."

"George Staunton Brough, rector of Staunton and Wolason, m. Hester Lowe, and left an only child, Esther (heiress of the families of Brough, Charlton, and Staunton), who m. to Rev. Charles Wylde, D.D., rector of St. Nicholas, Nottingham, and had issue."Esther (Brough) Wylde is listed in the book "Notes on the Parish Registers of St. Mary's Nottingham: 1566 to 1812" (FHL Book # 942.52/N1, K29n, pp.79-80) as follows:
"The Rev. Charles Wylde, D.D. (fourth son of William Wylde, Esq., of Nettleworth, Notts.), Rector of St. Nicholas, Nottingham, from 1773 to 1825, married Esther, only child (heir of the families of Brough, Charlton, and Staunton) of the Rev. George Staunton Brough, of Thoroton Hall, Notts., Rector of Staunton, Notts., and Rector of Wollaton, Notts.
