Information about Thomas Dawes is listed in the LDS TIB (Temple Index Bureau) "Index Card to Manti Temple Records" (Special Collections Department, FHL Film # 1267359, Book J), which card lists Thomas Dawes as being born on 3 August 1852 in "Bermingham" [Birmingham], England; died on 14 December 1906; Heir: Caroline A. D. Bird, sister; LDS proxy baptism: 23 February 1910; LDS proxy endowment: 24 February 1910.
Thomas Dawes died sometime after June 1900. This is based on the fact that his mother, Caroline Brough Dawes, stated in the 1900 U.S. Census--which was taken in Salt Lake City, Utah, on 11 June 1900--that she had thirteen children, seven of whom were still living at the time: Thomas, Anna, Alice Hannah, Caroline Amelia, Florence Emeline, Edward Sidney, and Beatrice Adelaide.
Research Note: In September 2011, the RBFO obtained the copy of the death certificate from England of a "Thomas Dawes" who was a "Labourer" and which stated that he died on 7 June 1907 at the age of "54 years" old (born about 1853) from "Suicide by drowning during temporary insanity" at the "Pool at Ketley Bank, Kingswinford, Stafford[shire]". The informant of Thomas Dawes death was Allen Stokes, Coroner for South West Staffordshire. An "Inquest" into his death was held on 8 June 1907, and the death cerificate was registered on 10 June 1907.
Research Note: New Family Search lists this Thomas Dawes--whose father was "John Dawes"--as being married to Ann Wills on 26 March 1871 in Dudley, Worcestershire. However, this is incorrect, as the marriage certificate for Thomas Dawes and Ann Wilts (via FHL Film # 0378784) lists Thomas Dawes as a Widower and Grocer of Dudley and that his father was "Francis Dawes" who was dead and a Labourer.

The marriage was witnessed by Jon Dawes and O. Sarony.
