In April 2011, the RBFO obtained a copy of the birth certificate of Charles Joseph Brough from New Zealand, which stated that he was born on 4 March 1892 in Cuie[?, although other sources state he was born in Putiki, Wanganui, North Island, New Zealand]; that his father was John Brough, a Farmer, who was born "At Sea" and was 45 years old in 1892 (so born about 1847); that his mother was Elizabeth Brough "formerly Wallace", who was born in Wanganui (North Island, New Zealand) and that she was 36 years old in 1892 (so born about 1856); that John Brough and Elizabeth Wallace were married on 12 August 1875 in Wanganui; and that the Informant at the time of his birth was his father, John Brough.
The death of Charles Joseph Brough is listed in the on-line New Zealand BDM Historical Records (Feb 2, 2011), which states that he died in 1961 at 69 years old (born about 1892).
