The inventory is a long one and aside from livestock, farming equipment and contents of the house some interesting things are: six paires of cheeses, three window cloths (curtains), great timber spars and boards, iron ware, iron bakestone, corn and malte in the barn--as he evidently roasted barley for malt for brewing beer, the principal drink at all meals and safer than water straight from the supply by the door.... On 28 April [1640], an Administration was granted to his widow Catherine and to Thomas Brindley."
